A new round of chemical curriculum reform calls for learning chemistry by adapting various experiment-centered activities,changing students' way of learning,and advocates "to teach students from their past experience together with the experience they are bound to gained form social life in future;helping students to understand the close relationship between chemistry and human life and to develop a deep concern about the chemical-related social problem;cultivating students' sense of social responsibility,participating awareness and decision-making ability." This study carried out on the basis of the concept of new currriculum,combined with the characteristics of chemical discipline,introduces the mission-driven teaching model which originated from the faculty of medicine and then adapted in the fields of computer and English teaching,to high school chemical experiment teaching,aiming to build a new teaching model—"mission-driven"teaching model in high school chemistry experiment,adapting the new curriculum concept to classroom teaching of chemistry to solve the problems in chemical experiment teaching,so as to change students' way of learning and to improve their abilities to analyze and solve problems, hence cultivate their creativity.According to the related literature,combined with classroom teaching observation,China's traditional form of chemical experiment teaching model ans operation procedures are analysed,then some weak points come to the surface.Based on further study of the related literature,learned from the "mission-based" teaching model in English teaching as well as the "mission-driven" in computer teaching,in the light of constructive learning theory and context cognitive learning theory,in terms of four elements of model aim,operation procedure,implemental requirement and teaching evaluation,"mission-driven"teaching model in high school chemistry experiment is creativity constructed.From teaching implementation level,according to the procedure of "designing to lead students—making strategy to realize teaching aim—setting criteria to evaluate the teaching result",the "mission-based" chemical experiment teaching design is fulfilled. By selecting experimental schools to put theory into practice,based on teaching experiment to summarize the general principles of teaching design and implementation in adapting "mission-driven'teaching model in high school chemistry experiment.From questionaire and interviews,the application effect of "mission-driven" model in chemical experiment teaching is analysed and the conclusions are as follows:the utilization of such teaching model inspires students' motivation,improves their mastery of knowledge and skills;changes students' way of thinking;promotes students' problem-solving ability with their chemical knowledge and cultivate students' interest and confidence in chemistry study as well as their sense of cooperation.
