A Study On Enrollment System Of American Adult Education

It is well known that American education has been well developed, which is also the model that many countries try to use and learn for reference in the development of adult education. This paper mainly focuses on the contributions of American adult education enrollment system to the diversification of student resource. Although our social system and methods of adult education entrance examination are different from those of American, studying the enrollment system of American adult education can help us clear the thoughts of adult education enrollment system reform and carry through the work of enrollment deeply and rationally, overall, which can promote the progress of the adult education and has some references for the development of our adult education.This thesis consists of four parts.The introduction of this thesis mainly concludes originalities and significances of topic selection, literature review, research methods, ideas and innovations.The first part of this thesis mainly defines the interrelated concepts adult education enrollment system and expounds the changes of American adult education recruitment method.The second part of this thesis summarizes enrollment operation mode of American adult educational agency. It mainly concludes five aspects: the first one is American adult education agency; the second one is the present recruitment method of American adult education; the third one is application for entrance procedures of American adult students; the fourth one is the strategies of the enrollment propaganda work; the last one is the safeguard mechanism for smoothly carrying out American education enrollments.The third part of this paper evaluates the enrollment system of adult education in American. Although the prevailing enrollment system of adult education in American has some merits such as the flexibility, diversity and serviceability, there are still some problems which the propaganda work of enrolling new students is out of order and the lack of association between different departments. Finally, the reform trend of enrollment system of adult education in American after entering 21 century is illustrated in this part.The final part of this paper expounds the implication which the enrollment system of adult education in American brought. We should based on the actual conditions of China to learn the merit of the prevailing enrollment system of adult education in American and to put forward the feasible reform measures according to the status and shortcomings of enrollment system of adult education in China.
