Research On The Evolution Of The Enrollment System Of Adult Colleges In China Since The Reform And Opening-Up

Adult higher education is an important strength in supporting human resource development strategy and constructing lifelong education system.Since the reform and opening up,the enrollment system of adult colleges has gradually developed which has trained large quantities of higher specialized talents,effectively improved the quality of workers,and has made important contributions to the popularization of higher education,as well as to the construction of lifelong education system.With the development of economy and reform,higher education has entered a new period of development,and the adult college enrollment system is also facing new opportunities and challenges.Based on Historical Institutionalism,human capital theory and Theory of mass higher education,the study analyzes the evolution of the adult college enrollment system,and then put forward the development of the adult college enrollment system thinking.The research shows that the historical change of the enrollment system of Chinese adult colleges since the reform and opening up can be divided into three stages: the recovery and development stage(1977-1985),the reorganization and adjustment stage(1986-1992)and the market-oriented development stage(1993-2022).The enrollment system of adult colleges continues to reform and innovate with the times,gradually forming the enrollment system of adult colleges with Chinese characteristics.This study analyzes the characteristics of adult college enrollment system evolution from five aspects:enrollment plan management,enrollment requirements,examination subject,examination time and admission system.The study put forward five aspects of thinking about adult college enrollment system: firstly,strengthen theoretical research and open up global vision;secondly,attach importance to adult characteristics,with characteristics as the brand;thirdly,meet social needs and promote connotative development;fourthly,further open up adult upward pathways and improve the development route from junior college to undergraduate,from undergraduate to master,doctor;fifthly,to shoulder the mission entrusted by the new era and serve rural revitalization,regional economic development and lifelong learning for all.
