Research On The Post-Games Utilization Of Olympic Venues Of Universities In Beijing

The Post-Games Utilization of Olympic venues has always been a problem for the host city.If there is no scientific and reasonable management and plan,it will be a burden for the future development.Building or extending six Olympic venues in universities is a feature of Beijing Olympic games.How to utilize the six Olympic venues appropriately will be a hard nut to crack for the Beijing government and the six universities.By the method of investigation,interview,statistics and other mathematical methods,this paper takes the Beijing six university Olympic venues as the investigating objects,and analyses and researches the post-games utilization of the Beijing six venues after 2008 from the point of spatial distribution,function alteration,post-games arrangement model,primary mission,operation and management,combining the post-games utilization of last six modern Olympic games and large games' venues in China,and the current management situation of Beijing's universities' comprehensive venues.The conclusions are as followed:1.The programs of post-games utilization of these six Olympic venues are lack of detailed plan in management.At the beginning of building, there is no certain program in management.The plan is just laid on the construction program.2.The functional identification of these six Olympic venues has two personalities.The principle is "comprehensive utilization,serve the university,take account of the society".So,these venues can serve the teachers,students and residents at the same time while satisfying Olympic competitions.3.After the on-the-spot investigation and analysis,this paper concludes the management model of post-games venues utilization into three:Firstly,specialized agencies model as China Agricultural University,Beijing University of Technology and Beijing Institute of Technology.Secondly,the combination of specialized agencies and professional company trusteeship model as Peking University.Thirdly, internal university group management model as Beihang University and University of Science and Technology Beijing.4.The post-games utilization of the six Olympic venues should satisfy teaching and training first,then introduce marketing mechanism and manage them scientifically in limited operating space.In brief,the main suggestions of this paper are as followed:1.These six universities should make good use of the time until Olympic end,define the executive power,establish a managing crew,strictly carry out the responsibility,and finish the pre-preparation of post-games operation.2.Whatever management model is applied,we should coordinate the connections of every aspect including people,teaching,training and operating opening.3.Some revelations are given to solve the construction and the management of school venues.
