An Investigation Of The Implementation Of Junior English Coursebook Project English In Xiayi County

As the curriculum reform of elementary education comes into practice,the situation of using only one kind of teaching materials has been changed.Many new books are published.Coursebook Project English is compiled by Beijing Ren'ai Education Press;it has been used since 2004 in Xiayi county of Henan province. What are the effect of Coursebook Project English in use? How do the users evaluate it? And are there any other factors that affect the effect of the new coursebook? In order to find out the answers to these questions,it takes the author of this paper more than one year to do the investigation on the users of the coursebook Project English and coursebook Project English itself.The author designs questionnaires and interviews;as a result of the study,the author herself finds out not only the users' positive and negative reflections on the coursebook Project English but also some problems existing in the process of using the coursebook.Coursebook Project English can basically meet the learners' needs.Project English has its advantages as well as its deficiencies.At the end of the paper,the author tries to give some advice for improving the role of the appointed coursebook.There are five chapters in this thesis.The first chapter is an introduction.It introduces the background information of this research and clarifies the study's significance;The second chapter presents the definition and the role of the coursebook,what's more,it introduces coursebook evaluation;The third chapter deals with the study of the coursebook's applied situation in teaching and learning;In chapter 4 the author collects the quality data through questionnaires and interviews and analyzes them.The last chapter focuses on the reflection and advice.
