Study On Correlation Between Lifestyle And Leisure Characteristics Of Postgraduates

The leisure study from the lifestyle perspective intergrates demographic and geographic factors into psychiatric and behaviourial variables,and dynamically helps to reflect and foresee the demand structure and life tracks of the existential and potential leisure consumers.The analysis of lifestyle elaborately offers the information database of leisure consumers,which is conducive to the study of correlation between lifestyle and leisure characteristics.Firstly,through factor analysis postgraduates from universities in Changsha are classified into 5 lifestyle groups.And then,leisure characteristics of postgraduates are revealed.The statistics shows that 4 leisure motivations of intelligence,stimulus-avoidance,mastery-competency and interaction are above the average level,among which the motivation of stimulus-avoidance is the highest while that of interaction is the lowest.In terms of leisure participation,participation rate of media activities is above the moderate level while that of other 5 kinds of activities is relatively lower.Finally,Canonical correlation analysis is used to discover the relationships among lifestyle,leisure motivation and leisure participation.This thesis consisits of 5 chapters. In the first chapter,research background,purposes,significance,and methodology are briefly elaborated and literature concerning is detailedly reviewed.In the second chapter,lifestyle and leisure are defined and the foundamental theories such as lifestyle,leisure motivation,leisure behavior and leisure participation are elaborated.In the third chapter,research hypotheses are put forward and research ingredients concerning lifestyle,leisure motivation and leisure participation are clearly confirmed and the researching methodology is accordingly introduced.The fourth chapter is to carry out the empirical research.Factor analysis is used to classify postgraduates into 5 lifestyle groups, descriptive statistical analysis to uncover the characteristics of leisure motivation and participation of postgraduates and Canonical correlation analysis to discover the relationship among lifestyle,leisure motivation and leisure participation.In the fifth chapter,main ideas are reviewed and research conclusions and some suggestion are made.Of course,research limitations are also mentioned...
