Nowadays, there are many English textbooks using in kindergartens. However, which is more appropriate for preschoolers to learn, there is no fix suggestion. Facing to this situation, many kindergartens have much difficulty in choosing English textbooks. In shanghai, many investigation shows that there are about 70 sets of English textbooks using in kindergartens. What's more, referring to how to choose textbooks, many kindergartens lean to imitate others that making the random choose in English teaching. My thesis aims to collect the information about the four sets of English textbooks most used in kindergartens in shanghai to make the comparison and analysis, in order to help the teachers to better recognize, understand, choose and use the English textbooks. Also, I hope that I can give some suggestions to the creators, supervisors and valuators.The objects of my thesis are published by shanghai foreign language Education Press, published by people's Education Press, published by Shuangmei Education association and edited by Shane institution. There are three aspects in comparison and analysis, which is whether be fit to the principles of how to edit kindergarten English textbooks, whether be fit to the need of preschoolers' language study and whether be fit to the need of teachers.In my thesis, I used three research methods which are questionnaire, analyzing content and focus group interview. After the comparison and analysis, I find that the four sets of English textbooks cut both ways in the followings:1. Considering the textbooks whether be fit to the principles of how to edit kindergarten English textbooks and referring to the content layout, and are both edited according to the principles of interesting, closing to live and visualized. But the have insufficient in closing to preschooler's life and be poor in diversity and expansibility.2. Considering the textbooks whether be fit to the need of preschoolers' language study and referring to the language present, the language used in and are more accepted and understated by teachers and preschoolers, which correspond to the principles of interactional and expansibility. Beside that, the vocabulary in has lowest frequency than other three sets of English textbooks. has poor in editing many types of listening and talking terms. What' more, all the four sets of English textbooks are poor in cultivating the preschooler's multicultural consciousness.3. Considering the textbooks whether be fit to the need of teachers and referring to the aspect of the teachers' edition and other providing in the textbooks, we find that and can provide the appropriate guidance for teachers and correspond to the principle of particularly. The is the import textbooks, to some extent, this set of textbooks are not come up to the teachers' needs of teaching situation. Moreover, the other providing in the textbooks mostly considering the needs of preschooler's study and teachers' teaching. These four sets of English textbooks not only equipped static teaching aids, but also dynamic teaching resource, which enriching the instructional modes in teaching preschoolers English in some extent.
