Attracting outstanding young people to pursue the calling of teacher and ensuring quality of teachers are the priorities of all governments around the world at present. Strengthening teachers ' role awareness of normal university students is a prerequisite for training the qualified teacher and improving quality of future teacher. However, the quantity of literatures focus on teachers ' role awareness of normal university students is not too much, mainly concentrates in 1990s. This paper means to explore the status quo of teachers ' role awareness of normal university students and its determinants on the base of teachers ' role theory, so as to provide effective information for students' pre-service learning and school educational activities in normal universities.On the base of reviewing and analysing present literatures, this paper divides teachers' role awareness of normal university students into four domains including teachers' role recognition, teachers' role expectation, teachers' role passion and teachers' role intention. The author designs questionnaires to gather information and also exployes the method of description statistics, T test and analysis of variance to get through the status quo of teachers ' role awareness of the senior students in X normal university. Then, the author uses the method of product-moment correlation coefficient and analyses the determinants of teachers ' role awareness of normal university students in society, university and students themselves. At last, this paper explores and puts forward advices on promoting teachers ' role awareness of normal university students from normal university and student angle.According to the reasearch, the author could get inclusions as follows. Firstly, normal university students who have the experience of teaching practice have strong teachers' role awareness, and stay in high level in four domains. Secondly, the formation of teachers' role awareness of normal university students is strongly influenced by gender, family location, father's education background and parents' occupation. Thirdly, the formation of teachers' role awareness of normal university students is influenced by recognition to the normal university by society, expectation to teachers' role by society, course designing, the level of teaching, teaching practice, speciality ideology education, the satisfying of occupational needs, personality and hobbies, teachers inprimary and middle schools. Among these factors, there are three distinctive factors that are teaching practice, the satisfying of occupational needs and personality and hobbies of normal university students. Fourthly, there are some of the other factors of students themselves, such as motivation of registration and study is diversified, recognition to the conditional knowledge is not enough, the characteristics of being a teacher is not suitable, the competence is not available, the understanding channels in teacher's role in the stage of teacher education is unitary.
