Since 1980s, how to improve the quality of teachers and to promote professional development of teachers attracts more and more people's attention. There is a reflective ethos in teachers'education domain in the world. Educating teachers to be reflective teachers is the key of teacher professionalization. Reflective teaching and reflective teachers are becoming more and more important subjects and are paid more and more attention to by many experts and scholars by education field.With the development of the innovation of curriculum, teachers are in the face of many great challenges, such as redefinition of teacher's role, adjustment of knowledge structure, changing of teaching practices. New curriculum increases a lot of uncertainty of teaching, so teachers should reflect the action of himself in the process of teaching and realize the transform from "empirical" to "reflective".Researcher tries to put forward some constructive proposals through literature analysis and the investigation of reflection ability of elementary and middle school teachers.The paper consists of an introduction and three chapters of main text:In the Introduction, the significances and current situations of the research, the research methods are introduced.In Chapter One, the researcher analyzes the theory of reflection and reflective teachers. The theory basis, the connotation and characteristic of reflective teachers, teachers'personal practical knowledge from Schon, Stephen D.Brookfield's views on the routes and methods for teacher reflection are included.In Chapter Two, reflection abilities of elementary and middle school teachers are surveyed and analyzed. Through questionnaire survey, general situations on teachers'reflection ability are realized, and problems existing are discovered. A further step to analyze factors affecting development of teachers'reflection ability are made.In Chapter Three, the proposals of cultivation of reflective teachers from elementary and middle school are put forward. Based on situation and consideration of teachers'reflection,combining in relative theories,some proposals around self- cultivation, teachers'training and school's atmosphere are put forward. They will finally improve development of elementary and middle school teachers'reflection.
