Risk Management In The 2008 Olympic Venues Projects Applied Research

On July 22, 2004, Beijing BOCOG and China netcom group signed a fixed telecommunication service partner agreement, China netcom group was the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games official fixed telecommunication service partner, so the communication construction began in December 2004. Holding the Olympic Games in Beijing, which is a precious historical opportunity to Beijing and China. To achieve goals of "unique and high-level" Olympic Games, Beijing will also face a great challenge, especially the management ability and level of the organization process will undergo a rigorous test.Olympic venues fixed communication construction is a huge investment, involving many departments and personnel, technical complexity and big duration pressure, and the most important domestic and international influence ,there are potential risks from project planning, implementation, acceptance, as well as the whole Olympic Games services. To manage and control the project risks is an important guarantee for the smooth implementation, for all units, all staff, this is a new working methods with great value and significance. Olympic venues fixed communication construction and service try to establish the risk management and control system throughout the whole process of project, apply a series methods in the field of project management, especially risk management technology, to effectively reduce the risk and loss, then guarantee the implementation . In this paper, we focus on summing up the characteristics of these methods and applications, in order to make a reference for similar projects in the future.
