Research Of Problems And Countermeasures To The Construction Of Chinese University Culture

University Culture, as the soul of a university, plays a vital important role in the development of the university. Since 1990's, human society is striding forward from the industrial economy to the knowledge-based economy, which not only is materially affecting Higher Education of China, but also is strongly summoning universities in China to realize new culture arousal. In order to open up new prospects of innovation in all respects of Chinese university reform, and advance the realization of new culture arousal, it is required to carry out a newer and deeper research on the university culture. Especially, in 21st century, more universities of China set the goal to strive to explore characteristics and make themselves in the top-rank of the international universities, which makes the research on the university culture more urgent.University Culture, as the result of the university history, is constantly accumulating during survival and developing of the university. It includes ideas, views, spirits, learning atmosphere, rules and regulations, values, style of students and environment etc. All of those above comprise the quaternity of spiritual culture, institutional culture, material culture, and behavioral culture, as the summation of spirit and material of the university. University culture, playing an invisible edification role, is one of the most effective means to improve the competitive power of the university and is also one vital approach to fulfill the mission of the university.As for this article, it focuses on the construction of the university culture, and the approaches to the construction in the integration of theory and practice. In view of the features of the research subject, this article applies the following methods, such as the combination of positive analysis and normative analysis, comparative analysis and "ideal form" etc.The main body of this article includes three parts:Firstly, this article sum up and analyze the current study on the university culture and on the basis of the above, it puts forward and expounds the concept, meaning and characteristic of the university culture. Secondly, recalling the development process in the past hundred years and the present situation of Chinese university culture, the article finds out the root of the problems and analyze them from theory and practice by analyzing the problems existed in theory and practice of the university culture. Finally, according to the problem in theory and practice of the construction of university culture, combining its reasons, the article puts forward the guiding ideology and fundamental principle to be followed for the construction of Chinese university culture. Concerning the quaternity of spiritual culture, institutional culture, material culture, and behavioral culture, the article emphasizes on the measures of the construction of Chinese university culture from theory and practice.Combining theory and practice, the article finds out the problem of the construction of Chinese university culture, and analyzes its reasons. In accordance with the quaternity of spiritual culture, institutional culture, material culture, and behavioral culture, the article gives a series of the approaches to the construction of Chinese university culture, with the hope that it can promotes the construction of Chinese university culture and realize its new revival.
