Study On Citizen Education With Globalization Background

Citizen education is not just a question of education, as well as a basis on which a nation to be stability and continue. Our citizen education is been surging by the wave of globalization. Therefore, to build and perfect citizen education system and make our country harmonious is an important problem of China's citizen education nowadays. The paper analysis history and characters of citizen education in western countries and China, and starting with the questions of our citizen education, bring forward strategies of China citizen education in globalization circumstance. Some knowledge is as followed.Firstly, the main features of western developed countries' civic education are (1) that civic education is guided and legalized by government, (2) to promote citizen's quality and countries' developments, (3) to emphasize the participation of the whole society, (4) to establish education system and improve effect of civic education.Secondly, the questions faced by China's current civic education lie in (1) the lack of knowledge of importance on citizen education, citizen education equivalent to the ethics education mistakenly, (2) unsystematic textbook content and unclear curriculum aim, (3) the scarcity of professional staffs and teachers of citizen education.Affected by the trend of globalization, new challenges are faced by our citizen education. (1) Patriotic feelings, cultural concept and socialist convictions were weakened by different degrees. (2) Citizen education in new ways is needed to cope with globalization context.Finally, the strategies enhancing and improving citizen education in the context of globalization are presented. (1) The strategies about citizen education content include patriotism, faith of socialism ideal, democracy, legal awareness, culture education and global consciousness. (2) The strategies about citizen education method are the emphasis on education, visible and hidden, multi-level and multi-tools, education and self-education, and on combination of indoctrination and two-way exchange.
