A Research On The College Students' Patriotic Education In New Times

Patriotism is a concept originated from history, which relates to the basic perspective of a nation's living and development, as well as the realistic pursuit of people in a certain period. Patriotism has different contents in different period or stages along with the developing of the society.Patriotic education is the everlasting theme of ideological and political education. Under the background of globalized economy and developing socialism market economy, strengthening reformation and expanding opening, there are lots of new situations and issues in the filed of ideology. Our patriotic education at colleges is facing new challenges that never met before. In order to improve the efficiency and pertinency, we have to grasp the characteristics and requirements from current patriotism education, expand the contents and innovate the methods. The writer has made some research on this topic by using the experiences on patriotic education in colleges, as well as the methods and theories from pedagogics.The main part of this article has four sections. The first gives the definition on patriotism and patriotic education, which makes the meaning clarified.The second segment states the historical value at the time being for patriotic education from the historical standpoint of new period patriotic education for college students. The third segment is about the research and analysis of the patriotism consciousness of new period college students. The new characteristics of their patriotism consciousness are studied and uncovered by the on-site questionnaires. And the reason causing this situation is analyzed. The advanced education methods in the world are referred. The fourth segment is the focus of the paper.In allusion of the third part,this part , analyses how to imporve the the substantial effects of patriotic education of college sutdents from the educational philosophy,content, carrier,methods, comprehensive system,etc.
