The European Union having been committed to strengthening the cooperation and mobility between Member States in the field of higher education from the European Community age. "Bologna Process", launched in 1999 was aimed to create a European Higher Education Area by 2010.To promote and implement the "Bologna Process", to enhance the quality of European higher education, to respond to the challenges caused by the globalization, what's more, to enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of European higher education globally, the EU launched the "Erasmus Mundus programme" in 2004. This dissertation has conducted systematic research on this programme. It briefly explains the programme, explores the background behind the programme, reviews the developing history of the programme, explains the content and the current status of the programme, states clearly of the objectives,goals,participants and the implementation status of the programme. The next part brings naturally the impact of the programme which had greatly effected the participants, meanwhile, the dissertation analyzes the existing problems on the programme.In the end of the dissertation, in accordance with the difficulties and problems which exists in international cooperation and mobility in the field of higher education in China, the dissertation puts forward some suggestions for China to learn from which will be of great practical experiences.
