| In the 21st century, the competition between countries gradually evolves into the competition of the scientific and technological strength with the rapid development of science and technology. In order to improve the international competitiveness, countries continuously implement the educational reformation to cultivate more and more persons who has innovative spirit and creative ability. The policy to develop the country by science and education is the national strategy and the basic policy in China. Science curriculum in primary school is an enlightenment curriculum which goal develops the innovative spirit and creative ability of the students. It is composed by each activity of scientific inquiry. The question consciousness is the first step of the activities of scientific inquiry, the starting point of thinking, and the source of innovation which run through the whole process of scientific inquiry. The question consciousness not only guides the students in science learning, but also inspires the students'interest in science and enthusiasm to carry out the innovative activities. It is not only one of the most important means to carry out science curriculum in primary school effectively, but also to develop the thinking, innovative spirits and creative abilities of the students. So it is very important to cultivate the students'question consciousness in science curriculum in primary school. Although the teachers attach importance to asking questions to the students in science curriculum in primary school, but it is restricted to the cultivation of the question consciousness of the students by the teaching concepts, the limited teaching design, the monotone circumstances of the question, the psychological factors of the students, or the capacity of the students. In view of these causes, students have no questions, are afraid to ask questions, could not think of any questions, or are not good at questions. It loses the opportunity of developing the innovative spirits and creative abilities of the students.The objectives of this research are the students and science teachers in five primary schools in A County, Dandong City, Liaoning Province. This thesis adopts the method of delivering questionnaires and an interview. Based on the theories and background of question consciousness, this research not only discusses the present situation of the cultivation of the students'question consciousness, but also an analysis of the causes of problems. According to the results and discoveries, suggestions to cultivate the students'question consciousness must be put forward as follows: to strengthen the double-base training and capacity-building of the students what will enable students to have questions; to create a good atmosphere of teaching what will enable students to ask bravely; to optimize the teaching design what will enable students to want to ask; to teach the students about the methods of asking what will enable students to be good at asking. |
