| Economic globalization has exerted an all-round influence over Chinese society, people's way of life and their ideological views. Young college students are the country's future and hope; they are burdened with the historical mission of building a socialist country. This thesis analyses the opportunities and challenges the economic globalization has brought to the political and ideological education of college students in this country, and it has proposed corresponding solutions, which are aimed to eliminate economic globalization's negative effects on college students'ideological education so that the effectuality of ideological education can be improved.Economic globalization is a double-edged sword, which brings ideological education more opportunities than challenges. The economic growth resuting from China's reform and open-door policies provides ideological education with a material foundation, and provides opportunities for learning and drawing upon foreign countries'advanced experiences in ideological education. Economic globalization also promotes ideological educators'quality and ability and presses them to apply theories to practice. For college students, economic globalization helps to liberate their thoughts, promote their national awareness and patriotism, and cultivate competition awareness and democratic and equality ideas. Economic globalization enriches the contents of college ideological education and provides colleges with new teaching approaches. The challenges economic globalization brings for college ideological education mainly include the following: the multicultural conflicts in an open environment are likely to weaken mainstream values and complicate ideological conflicts; Internet poses new challenges to the traditional ideological education, and economic globalization poses challenges to the contents and methods of ideological education. Economic globalization's influence over college students includes: western countries'theories of"human rights are prior to sovereignty"and"sovereignty is obsolete"are dimilishing the notions of country and nationality, threatening our country's sovereignty and unity. Western countries'ideological values pose challenges to college students'value systems and ways of life; the conflict and fight between two systems have wavered their socialist beliefs.Then, first we should keep to our use of characteristic Chinese socilist theoretic system to govern our ideological education, further publicize and study the theory of scientific development, and provide college students with scientific theories. We should stick to the guiding role of the characteristic Chinese socialist theoretic system, reinforce characteristic Chinese socialist theoretic system's publicity and penetration, build a core value system of socialism, promote socialist ideology's appeal and cohesion, and protect against western ideological inroads. We should renew our ideological education materials, keep to our mainstream themes and improve the purposefulness and effectuality of ideological education.Next, we should attach importance to the build-up of the ideological teaching staff and promote their qualities. We should require that an ideological educator should be a staunch Maxist, who can obtain a timely understanding of college students'views and opinions, can use modern teaching techniques and can have an excellent mental state and a healthy psyche.Further, we should renew our teaching methods and approaches, fully make use of information networking technologies, improve college cultural constructions and social practices, and promote ideological education's appeal.Finally, we should improve our education system, build an all-round education system of integrating college, family and society into a whole, improve the approach and system for the evaluation of college students'comprehensive qualities, and reinforce the comprehensive quality evaluation work that is centered upon students'ideological qualities. |
