Parents'beliefs regarding children's learning refer to parents'basic views and perspectives on children's learning. It is the empirical cognition which is concerned with children's learning in parents'educational concept. Specifically, it is a personal knowledge conducted on the nature study of children, learning process and ways, learning objectives and content. It is an important component of parents'educational sense, dynamically acting on parents'parenting behavior through the interaction with other views in parents'educational concept. This study aims to investigate the present situation of parents'beliefs regarding children's learning, and explore the factors which serves influence on them. The thesis is conducted to provide the theoretical basis for improving parents'beliefs regarding children's learning and promoting children's learning and development.Taking Questionnaire on Parents'Beliefs Regarding Children's Learning which is compiled by myself as the research tool, this thesis conducts a questionnaire survey of 300 children's parents so as to explore the current condition of parents'beliefs regarding children's learning. The main conclusions are as follows:1. Generally speaking, parents'attitudes on children'learning shows diversity and level quality. Parents could understand the nature objection, content, mode and process of children'learning through the perspective of children's development. And they could understand children'learning and know that children could get growth and development from study in a wider sense. Meanwhile, affected by traditional concept of education, they could underhand children's learning from the perspectives of reality and adult.2. Apart from the characteristics of the parents as a whole in the attitude regarding children's learning, urban and rural parents show their tendency respectively in different dimensions. What's more specific, urban parents are more inclined to view children's learning from the perspective of childhood development. Rural parents, however, put more emphases on explicit learning outcomes and practical significance.3. Parents at different education levels have varying degrees of attitudes regarding children's learning. Parents with higher degree incline more to analyze children's learning from rules and characteristics of children's development.4. As the children growing up, parents are more concerned with the reality feature of children' learning. And they pay more attention to children'increased knowledge and acquisition of skills. All of those shows that parents take more concerns to the young link.By adopting interview method and conducting in-depth interviews with four parents, this thesis argues that the attitudes of parents and children regarding learning is influenced by the individual factors such as growth expectation of parents regarding children, parents'herd mentality and peer, and parents'sentimental education experience. Such a process is also affected by some external environmental factors such as communication between parents and teachers, teachers'evaluation of learning for young children, and the influence of mass media.
