School is an important place of students'life and learning, and school belonging is the reflection of students'quality of school life, therefore positive school belonging is the foundation of healthy school life. School has gradually lost its appeal to students because it can't make students feel belonging, so some students discontinue their studies or drop out, which is the primitive motivation of scholars focusing on school belonging. At present, there are so many studies on school belonging in other countries, but the studies on structure of school belonging draw different conclusions, and undergraduates' university belonging has not been concerned. In China, this field is still in an exploring stage.Based on existing literature, the definition of undergraduates'university belonging (UUB) was made. Through interview and questionnaire survey and other research methods and statistical methods such as items analysis and factors analysis, the structure of UUB was ascertained, and UUB questionnaire with good reliability and validity was designed and examined, then the current status of UUB was discussed basing on the data derived from formal investigation with UUB questionnaire(n=525). Impact factors were summarized from existing research and open-ended questionnaire. Finally, correlate analysis and regression analysis were used to construct the effect factors model between UUB and its impact factors. Based on each research, the main conclusions are as follows:(1) This study proved that UUB is comprised of two factors:identity belonging (IB) and emotional-spirit belonging (ESB).(2)Self-designed UUB questionnaire is qualified with fine reliability and validity. It can be used to measure undergraduates'university belonging.(3) In general, the development level of undergraduates'university belonging is at the medium level. Of all samples,43.24% undergraduates are below the threshold.(4) There is no significant difference of UUB in gender, which is the same as source and major and type of university. However, both of two factors of UUB have significant difference. IS of female students is higher than male students', whose ESB score is lower than female students'. ESB score of students of focus undergraduate university is higher than that of students of ordinary undergraduate university significantly. Meanwhile, there is significant difference in grade and student leader。On the whole, UBB score of senior students is higher than that of junior students, but there is no significantly difference among other grades. The order of score on ESB is senior>sophomore>junior>freshman, and sophomores' score is significantly higher than freshmen's. Likewise, seniors'score is significantly higher than juniors' and freshmen's, and there is also no significantly difference among other grades. Student leader's UUB score is significantly higher than non-student leaders', which is in the same way in ESB.(5) UUB is significantly correlated with university surroundings, student management, teachers &teaching, perceived social support, self-esteem and undergraduate interpersonal relationship.(6)UUB can directly be predicted by university surroundings, student management, teachers &teaching, perceived social support, self-esteem, and the order of effect size is student management> perceived social support> university surroundings> self-esteem> teachers & teaching. Student management and undergraduate interpersonal relationship and self-esteem can directly predict perceived social support, and the order of effect size is student management >undergraduate interpersonal relationship>self-esteem. Undergraduate interpersonal relationship and teachers & teaching and perceived social support can directly predict self-esteem, and the order of effect size is undergraduate interpersonal relationship> teachers &teaching> perceived social support. Self-esteem and perceived social support can directly predict undergraduate interpersonal relationship, and the order of effect size is self-esteem>perceived social support. University surroundings and teachers & teaching can directly student management, and the order of effect size is university surroundings>teachers & teaching. Undergraduate interpersonal relationship indirectly predicts UUB by self-esteem and perceived social support.
