The Status Quo Of The Urban Residents' Modern Social Trust In The Context Of Harmonious Community Construction

As the arrival of modernization, which is a symbol of human civilization, profound changes have taken place in all aspects of human life. The changing of economy, politics, culture and society at all levels and the emerging of the phenomenon of separation between time and space are the one of the salient features. In this background, trust model of traditional society has become increasingly unsuited to the development of society and the construction of modern social trust system has become a real necessity. Social trust is an important characteristic of a harmonious society, and also a solid foundation for building a harmonious community under the new situation. Therefore, construction of a universal system of modern social trust has become an internal requirement of harmonious community construction.This paper mainly aims to study the modern social trust of urban residents in He Hua Chi Community of Chongqing. Following the scientific concept of development, several research methods such as literature, questionnaire and individual interview are employed. Reasons for status quo of social trust and countermeasures to resolve the problems are also introduced in the paper. The main contents are as follows:Firstly, investigate the trust status of various occupational groups,organization and changes of trust in the new period in the residents' view from the perspective of universalism,system doctrine and instrumentalism. Secondly, the factors are attributed to four main parts including social transformation,culture,institution and the development status of social organization.From the studies mentioned above, some solutions are presented to improve the situation. They are:adopting a rational attitude toward the problem arising from the social transformation to form the modern form of social trust,carrying forward the traditional culture to construct the modern value system of social trust,strengthening the institutional construction to create the modern legal environment and paying more attentions to the construction of social organization to display the function of them.The innovations of this paper are:Firstly, the research of social trust is placed in a wider social context and the research perspective and research methods are greatly enriched. Besides, the paper attempts to measure modern social trust from the quantitative point of view. Research methods will be provided for further studies.
