Trust is a prerequisite and foundation for social action and interpersonal interaction, and it is also the key to a positive social work professional relationship. When frontline social workers intervene with emancipists, they often face the situation that the professional relationship is superficial and the trust level is not deep enough to facilitate change. This paper uses qualitative research methods from social support theory to investigate the reasons for the difficulty in trusting emancipists, their trust status and the development of their professional trust relationship through observation and interviews.Based on the review of literature and practice, the author attributes the reasons for the difficulty in trusting emancipists to the non-acceptance of the social environment, the "avoidance" mentality of emancipists, and the practical limitations of trust generation.According to the process of trust generation and the characteristics of the stages, this paper divides the generation of professional trust into three stages:the budding trust stage, the trust development stage and the trust maturity stage, and provides social support and social work intervention for emancipists according to the characteristics of each stage. The study finds that emotional support, instrumental support and information support are effective in generating professional trust between the two,and work alternately in the three stages.
