A Research On Embedment In Community Service Organizations' Survival And Development

After the 90s of 20 century, the Chinese government proceed a series of social reforms with the perpurs of satisfying the need of most people's needs under the condition of government approving the market economy system. It has provided the good growth space for non-governmental organizations. As the result of transforming the government functions and advancing the non-governmental organizations development. Community services organizations, one type of non-governmental organization, take the responsibility of giving services to community and developing the community.Community services organizations usually have their own history of growth presenting the specific life course and historical vein. The development process of community services organizations is the process of long time interaction between the organizations and communities. Such kind of interaction growth includes a bidirectional process which is organizations integrate the communities and the communities take in the organizations. The purpors of organizations'growth is integrating the communities and becoming a part of it. But during the proceed of organizations'growth, they have many problems in integrating the communities.In this article we taked the X organization in Shenzhen as an example. We used embedment perspective as the theoretical basis and qualitative research methods to conduct case studies, to analyze the community service organization'survival and development context in the community. We hope to make conclusion on the cognitive schemata to interpret how community service organization can be associated with community during the service period. In the case of in-depth study, we found that community service organization in the service period has always been concerned about how a reasonable access to services embedded in the community systems and results in the embedding process at different stages of the exploration phase, integration period, development period, so as to face with different issues and need to take the appropriate embedding strategy. Comparing the organization embedded in the different communities, different strategies based on community needs, community culture, community service system, as well as a number of other community factors that have been proved to be an institution in the process of embedding the community need to be considered. In the process of embedding in the community, the form of an alliance to enable organizations to access a wider range of community recognition and resource support is a useful method, thereby enabling organizations to obtain the status of legitimacy to embed in the community. Under the impetus of an alliance in the community, the organization can make institutional integration of community services programs and promote it, then, the effectiveness of community-based services eventually can come to true. The organization can become embedded in communities, community development, to increase community well-being.
