Non-verbal symbol is one of the important factors which affect emotional education. The form and emotion used in emotional education can deliver to students by a series of non-verbal symbols such as knowing smile, trusting sight, close body language, time and space information, color and environment. Non-verbal symbols could promote students'positive emotional experience and enable them to experience life by themselves. Unfortunately, educators often overlook the effect of non-verbal symbol. In the process of emotional education, the silent non-verbal symbols are more useful than the language of sound while expressing feelings. Non-verbal symbols play an important role in the process of emotional education. How to use the positive effect of non-verbal symbols in emotional education and maximize the effect of emotional education is an urgent problem has to be solved in the process of emotional education , it is also the focus of this research. Based on the theory of education, psychology and sociology, this research makes a summary of emotional education in primary and secondary schools, analyze the current status of emotional education, and explore the effect of non-verbal symbols on emotional education, aiming at seeking practical ways in the progress of emotional education. This research includes five parts.The first part is an introduction including the current situation of emotional education, and the definitions on some related conceptions.The second part lists the current emotional education situation of primary and secondary schools which lack of non-verbal symbols such as non-sense of emotional injury, emotional helplessness in group, emotional hurt in space and emotional decline in ceremonies.In the view of non-verbal symbols, the third part analyzes the reason in primary and secondary schools which lack of emotional education such as drawbacks of traditional ideas, obstacles of exam-oriented education, changes of lifestyle and diverges in value.Based on emotional appeal in campus environment, construction of non-verbal symbol environment in classrooms and teachers'non-verbal emotional expressions, the fourth part focuses on how to build the emotional education of primary and secondary school in the view of non-verbal symbols, how to train and develop the emotional quality of primary and secondary students through the way of non-verbal symbols in emotional education process and develop students'self-control ability in primary and secondary schools .Also promote their active emotional experience about learning, life and other things around them, and improve primary and secondary students'development which include knowledge, emotion, will and behavior. By this way, the independent and perfect personality of students could be developed well finally.The fifth part is the conclusion of this paper.
