Teaching is a process of knowledge transfer, information exchange and communication. Language is the most frequently used and the most important way to transfer knowledge and give influence. A successful teacher should use precise, visual and vivid words, should be enthusiastic, logical with coherence and integrity. At the same time, the successful teaching process is not only carried on by verbal behavior but also by non - verbal behavior.An experienced teacher often communicates through non-verbal ways. Teaching information is exchanged through verbal and non-verbal ways. And the non-verbal skills can be a very large part and always make great influences. As the students in normal schools will work as a teacher in future,what their teachers have done in class also give great influences to them. In this point, non-verbal communication used in Class teaching of normal schools is espcially important.In order to promote non-verbal communication in normal schools, the author takes some research on the current situation of the non-verbal communication of Jinan Normal schools, finds some problems, and gives some suggestions.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction, mainly about the background, a brief description about the current domestic and foreign research results and the special methods used by the author.The second part is an expatiation on the basic theory. The author makes a summary on domestic and foreign relevant study, such as the definition of non-verbal communication. And a clear definition of non-verbal communication is a very meaningful thing for class teaching.The third part makes an analysis about the behaviors of non-verbal communication. According to the classifications of domestic and foreign researchers, the author put forward her own classification which can be easier to study and use: active non-verbal behaviors, static non-verbal behaviors and paralanguage system. Then is the soul of the passage, and the following questionnaires, analysis and proposals are all from here.The fourth part is an analysis of the current situation of non-verbal communication in Jinan normal teachers.The corresponding suggestions are given to make improvements in the fifth part according to that the existing and important problems of non-verbal communication in everyday class teaching are found in the fourth part.
