Critical thinking is the thinking with one's characteristics, i.e. a person can catch the genuine meaning of matters by analyzing, deducing, comparing . And it also means an independent thinking of questioning and tracing, it can be in a postion to review his viewpoints. As to how to develop students'thinking in senior middle school teaching of Chinese, we should learn the teaching model of critical thinking , i.e. the students are the heroes and active in posing questions from foreign countries such as America on the basis of our traditional teaching model, i.e. teachers are heroes and active in telling students the answers , meanwhile the students are inactive and required to remember what the teachers teach. In other word, we should let the students get the habit of thinking independently , questioning and research by themselves. By this way, the senior middle school students will think in different directions, especially in reading and writing. This article explores a balancing point between remembering thinking and critical thinking teaching, and pays more attention to critical thinking teaching. By this means, the senior middle school students will get the habit of critical thinking and foster the ability of innovation, which will do a lot of good to them.This article discusses the critical thinking teaching in three parts including the preface and conclusion with view to changing our teaching model at present to meet the need of society and developing the ability of students'critical thinking as soon as possible.In Part One, the article explores the contents of critical thinking on the theoretical basis of documents, analyzing the characteristics of it and the relationship with remembering thinking , meanwhile presenting how to develop the critical thinking.In Part Two, focuses on an empirical study of critical thinking , believing it is necessary to foster students'critical thinking in senior middle school Chinese teaching after making investigations.In Part Three, this article discusses how to change the ways of teaching and learning in reading and writing, which are of the most importance in Chinese teaching. The author points out the shortcomings and meanwhile proposes a few suggestions.By the analysis of the above-mentioned, the author believes that it is necessary and feasible to rebuild our teaching model by using the critical thinking teaching model to replace what is out of date in our traditional teaching model accordingly and gradually in order to foster the critical thinking of our senior middle school students and meet the need of our teaching.
