Since 2004, the new chemistry curriculum had been put into practice in china's high school. The four leading experimental areas were Guangdong (canton), Shandong, Hainan and Ningxia and for them, chemistry elective course had been paid less attention of investigation compared with compulsory course. As a separate module for arts learners, Chemistry and Life was often ignored and less investigated by teachers and experts who only studied its teaching method and teaching material. At the fall of 2007, Jilin Province started the new curriculum program, so Chemistry and Life had been used for two years. In this essay, we will solve the following questions. What's the implementation of Chemistry and Life? Whether does it incarnate the new curriculum's idea? What kind of difficulties does it encounter? What affect the implementation of Chemistry and Life mostly? As a practice teacher, the author will regard her own teaching experience as the research subject. By using the qualitative research and a case study, the students will answer a questionnaire.This thesis has five parts. Part 1 is the introduction. It introduces the background and purpose of this research. Part 2 is the literature review about Chemistry and Life. Part 3 is the analyses of Chemistry and Life's Curriculum standards, textbooks and teaching. In part 4, the qualitative research and quantitative research are used to describe the research progress and to explain the problems encountered during the program. And then it sums up the factors which affect the implementation of Chemistry and Life. Part 5 is the conclusion part.
