| Motor imagery is a mental training methods widely used in training and competition, and it's an indispensable field in sport psychology as well. From the perspective of psychophysiology, electroencephalography (EEG) was adopted as the main method of this study in order to explore the characteristics of EEG change in motor imagery process of athletes and the difference between expert athletes and novice and make comparisons between the EEG changes in two cognitive tasks so as to clarify their differences. The EEG of athletes of track and field, badminton, archery and shooting under different conditions were detected, which lasted for 3 minutes. The results suggested:1 Under relaxed condition, no significant difference existed in brain activation of athletes of track and field, badminton, archery and shooting. The brain activation during motor imagery and calculation varies.2 During motor imagery, significant differences of EEG power percentage of athletes of track and field, badminton, archery and shooting existed. Significant differences of 8 wave frequency were found in left frontal pole and right frontal. a wave power percentage was the highest in left frontal pole and occipital lobe, and there was advantageous areas in the right brain. Inβwave frequency, significant differences appeared in right frontal pole, left frontal, left central, left parietal, left frontal, left central, left parietal, occipital lobe, right anterior temporal and left posterior temporal. In the process of calculation, the activated brain areas are frontal and temporal lobes, central lobes.3 Compared with relaxed condition, a wave power percentage in visual motor imagery decreased and increased in kinesthesia motor imagery in which P wave percentage also went up.4 The comparison between two cognitive tasks revealed that athletes applied more resources in calculation tasks than in motor imagery during information processing. The activated brain areas mostly included frontal pole, frontal lobe, motor area of cerebrum, occipital lobe and temporal lobe. a wave decreased during calculation task.5 During the experiment, it was found that there was no difference between the brain neurology activeness of experts and novice under relaxed condition. No advantage was seen in either left or right hemisphere. The difference between experts and novices were shown left frontal pole, left central lobes and parietal lobes. |
