With the rapid development of mass sports in Western countries during the mid-20th century, a lot of new games are rising around the world. Such as Snowboarding, mountain bicycle, wheelbarrow, paragliding, rafting, beach volleyball, beach soccer and so on, with the features of endurance, adventure, stimulation and stylish, and mixing the elements of music and dance, people regard them as trend sports. Some of them are from a traditional game with transformation and innovation, some are new games. However, they are in short decades to achieve rapid development, and even swept the world, part of them has also entered the Olympic Games. This is a very worthwhile academia and industry phenomenon of great concern, especially for China, still almost no one involved in this research field.This paper, intended the trend sports as a whole system, with the case study of to snowboarding, using the methods of literature, expert interviews and other research methods, combined with product life-cycle theory and the theory of five stages of the development of sports identification indicators, to describe the development process of Snowboarding, analyze the law of its growth and conclude the basic understanding of the development model of trend sports, including the technical level, values and organizational management.The main conclusions are as follows:1. Trend sports is a sports-culture mixed game under the backgrounds of people in pursuit of fashion, the pursuit of new and exciting, the pursuit of distinctive way of life. It consists the feature and function of distinct, epidemic, novelty, fun, cultural, recreational, open, and commercial.2. Trend sports in the invention phase:full of innovative, it is based o(?). the mainstream cultural forms, but new things can not be easily accepted by the public. At the same time, this innovative and interesting ways of the game attract people's further exploration.3. In the innovation period:it began to appear some "avant-garde" groups and began to leave the narrow circle of the occupation of the local market, hard thinking and trying products are the core of this stage.4. In the development and growth stage:Due to attract more attention in the phase of innovation, the market has been rapid growth and development, and carries out the specific lifestyle groups and sub-culture, the increase of market share promote the standardization of the product.5. In mature and expanding the period:as the result of the decline of the prices and the gradual maturity of the game, the industrial concentration has been identified and begins the trend of popular.6. In saturation period:general popularity has reached the requirements and standards, and become a common sport, the market has basically reached the saturation point; in this period, the further development of the market only through further innovation and product differentiation can be achieved further.
