The Research On Score System Of The Track And Field In China

Score system of the track and field has been one great innovation of China's competition system in track and field from 1998. Now it has been one competition system which must be complied by the athletes in China. The score system of the track and field has been carried out in two National Games from 2004 when it was put into effect. However, the studies about this new competition system are few. This paper will make a comprehensive and profound analysis about it by referring to the literatures and information, visiting the specialists, making questionnaires and analysing the datas. The result of this paper is followed:Score system of the track and field in China is one pattern of the International Association of Athletics Federations'system, but there are some differences between them. The score system of the track and field in China has its own characteristic, which takes the status of the track and field and the characteristic of the athletes into account. But it is not general and perfect, and should have a scientific, institutional and professional development.On the micro-level, the coaches, athletes and managers approbate the score system of the track and field highly, but the coaches and managers have more initiatives, and the coaches have a more profound understandings about the concrete rules. Undeniably, in order to adhere to the principle of national interests, receive the recognization of the threes, and meet the development of country's track and field, some measures should be improved, such as the proportionment of the points in every year, how many times the youth athletes obtain the points, how many the cardinal number of every team is every year.On the macro-level, the coaches, athletes and managers can make a impersonal evaluation about the score system, the most of them have a positive attitude and approve of carrying out the system in the next national game. Besides, there are some advantages about the score system:firstly, the score system will make the athletes having a positive attitude to the competition. Then it will foster the athletes'continuous high-intensity competition competence.According to the analysis about the track and field grades beween the first five years of the implementation of the system and the second five years, we know that the track and field grades and stability both have been improved since the score system was carried out in 2004. In a word, the overall level of the track and field makes much progress.
