The significance of information resources in today's society have no doubt。Statistics which serve as an information-intensive industries play a crucial role in government departments, enterprises and research institutions. The rapid development of information technology will advance to a new era of statistical applications.Decision-making is the ultimate goal of providing statistical information. Statistical information makes the efficiency of statistical work greatly improved, and statistical department accumulated a wealth of statistical information resources. However, it's a lack of the effective management, development and utilization of statistical information resources, so statistical functions are not effectively carried out.Based on describeing the background of statistical information, this paper proposed that business intelligence'mangement concepts and it's key technologies are applied to the statistical work. Closely linked to statistical operations and statistical data'characteristics, the three key technologies of business intelligence that is data warehousing, OLAP and Data Mining (DM) in the statistics application are discussed and researched. In addition, the theoretical framework of statistical decision analysis system based on business Intelligence is established. Then, this theoretical framework is applied to China's science and technology statistics. On the part of empirical analysis, to use the theme of the patent results of science and technology statistics as an example, with Microsoft SQL Server BI tools, the multi-dimensional data sets and mining set is established, and OLAP analysis and data mining are carried out. By the empirical analysis, business intelligence shows the powerful decision-making analysis functions. This paper provides a new way of method and thinking for statistical work and the development of statistical data.
