Survey And Analysis Of Factors Affecting The Performance Of Hunan Province Table Tennis Sport

As a "national sport", table tennis is one of our country's competitive sports typically with traditional strengths. Since April 1959, Rong Guotuan won the first World Men's Singles Champion for China at the 25th world table tennis tournament. Although experienced some ups and downs, China's competitive table tennis has ranked second to none in the world for more than 50 years. In the 2008 Olympic Games, Chinese athletes also fulfilled the mission, sweeping all four gold metals. We can say that China's competitive table tennis has created numerous glories. From the mid-70s to late 80s, Hunan competitive table tennis has trained some national champions, such as Liao Fuming,Huang Jianguo,Liu Junhui and some outstanding national athletes like Wang Lijun,Xu Juan,Li Sufang and so on. However, after the 1990s, due to lack of funds, the problems of athletes'outlet and other reasons, Hunan table tennis sports nearly came to a standstill for an extended period of time. This article takes table tennis experts in Hunan province and the leaders,coaches,athletes of table tennis team,as well as some coaches, athletes at some key sports schools,general sports school as the research objects, through investigation and study, to find the major factors which affect the competitive table tennis performance in Hunan province, analyzing the causes, proposing advice and making some good reference for the development of Hunan table tennis and the improvement of the performance. Mainly based on literature, questionnaire surveys, expert interviews, logical reasoning method and other methods, this study comes to the following conclusions:1,The level of economic development in Hunan Province indirectly affects the competitive table tennis's development of our province. The overall level of our province economic development is not high,so the limited input of fund in competitive sports and the implementation of the "Olympic Gold " strategy line make Hunan table tennis sport lack of leaders'adequate attention and no funding guarantee.2,The management system on the table tennis sports project of Hunan province is backward, the control is insufficient. There is no regulation on the establishment of table tennis center, failing to make differentiation management of competitive table tennis.3,The setting of table tennis for competition is unreasonable, without forming a complete set of contest system. Due to few opportunities to participate in matches, the enthusiasm of the table tennis coaches especially the grass-root team coaches and young athletes is declining, and the unreasonable competitive setting has seriously affected our province's reserve of table tennis talents.4,The number of Hunan province table tennis reserve is not small. However the general level is not high, the proportion of male and female athletes is not entirely reasonable. In many contests, there exists some bad phenomenon such as understatement the age to compete against the younger, which is bad for Hunan table tennis talents' training and athletes' overall development.5,In Hunan Province, the lower education,level weak ability of scientific research, lack of technological innovation, backward training method and athletes' lack of the spirit of hard work, without sufficient understanding of the up-to-date technology and development trend information of Table Tennis sport. All of above reasons have affected and restricted the improvement of the performance of Hunan competitive Table Tennis.
