Thinking about the phenomenon of the college students renting houses outside the campus leads to a private space; private space raises the issue of social space. The purpose of thinking this issue is clearing ideas and theories about space in the human knowledge history, providing a bold attempt for opening and the establishment of sociological research paradigm. The existing space research issues about sociology relate to the macro-space theory, but lack of the main body of social interaction in the social process changes in the empirical study of space. It is so many subjects that constitute the micro-macro social and overall space, therefore, it is very valuable and necessary to study the relationship between the main growth of the micro-spatial and his space changes from an empirical point of view.Present study surveyed college students, used questionnaire survey, selected tow hundred students as sample, and made out their changing situation in physical space, mental space, social space, public space, private space and so on in the process of socialization. Data analysis showed that physical space as the main concept of self-space gradually growing became larger in the process of socialization; variation of mental space based on objects, if communicated with parents, the openness of the main mental space would gradually smaller, and reaching a certain stage remained unchanged; if communicated with friends, the openness of the main mental space would gradually increase with age growth; if communicated with strangers, the openness of the main mental space would remain unchanged with age growth; social space gradually became enlarged with the main body of interpersonal communication expanding continuously, and changed in landscape-based.Objective factors impacted on spatial variation, such as regional factors, one-child factors, parental social roles factors peer groups factors, school factors, personal career factors and mass media factors. Urban and rural areas are very different in the transportation, economic development, thinking and so on, so the physical space of the main changes differently because of different family premises; one-child factors not only impact on the main character's development, but also impact on their mental space and social space development; different parental social roles determine different family atmosphere and different ways of education, so the development of the main mental space produces differences. Because social roles determine social relations, that parents' social relations directly affect the development of the main social space at a certain stage; subjects interact with peer groups frequently, the status of subjects in group, subcultures of groups and family background of group members directly affect the development of the host social relations, that changes of social space; classroom education, school environment, school spirit-building and practices directly affect the development of psychological space and social space; occupational categories influence the development of the main social space in process of continue socialization ; mass media influence the development of psychological space and social space by influencing the development of the main cognitive and personality. These factors also made the main change in psychological, cognitive, behavior, values, and so on, the main subject may accept social primary culture and also accept social counter-culture, the main space development presents two kinds of opposite direction, so it can be said space has a value of duality because of the main body.
