Parent involvement is one of the most important topics in psychological and pedagogic research. A significant body of research indicates that parents participate in their children's education, the result is an improvement in student behavior and achievement. Parent involvement has been widely recognized as an important factor affecting the children's education. More and more researchers have been exploring the effectiveness of parent involvement and always encouraging parents participate in their children's education. So, Based on analysis of previous research literature, combining the material of interview, the present research developed specially the questionnaire to investigate the characteristics of parental involvement in schooling of the junior middle school students of grade 7-9, and explored the relationship among parent involvement, self-concept and school life satisfaction.In the 1st study, Parent Involvement Questionnaire for Junior Middle School Students was developed on the basis of open questionnaire survey ahd interviews. The questionnaire includes 23 items,including of 3 dimensions: cognitive involvement, personal involvement, behavior involvement. The reliability and validity of the questionaire is acceptable in psychometrics.515 junior middle school students participated in the 2st study, and they were asked to complete Parent Involvement Questionnaire for Junior Middle School Students. In the study,the characteristics of their parents involvement were investigated.In the 3rd study, We investigated the relationship of parent involvement of junior middle school students, self-concept and their school life satisfaction by questionnaire survey.Through three studies above-mentioned, the results are as follow:(1) The questionnaire of Parent Involvement for Junior Middle School Students had good reliability and validity.(2) There exists significant difference among the three dimensions of Parent Involvement. There exists significant difference among the three grades. The boy of parent involvement is significantly higher than those of girls. The level of parent involvement for parents with one child is significantly higher than those for parents with more children. The parents of student with higher achievement showed higher level of involvement than those of student with low achievement in three dimensions. Parents of higher level of education showed higher level of involvement than parents of lower level of education in three dimensions.(3) The three dimensions of parent involvement are positively related to all of the dimensions of Self-concept and School satisfaction.(4) Parent involvement and Self-concept can predict the student of School satisfaction.(5) Junior middle school students of Self-concept partially mediated the relation of theirs Parent involvement and School life satisfaction.
