Causes And Prevention Of Juvenile Delinquency

Juvenile Delinquency has become a social problem concerned by many social fields in recent years. Criminal members are getting younger, criminal ways are getting diversity, in groups, adult-like and more intelligent. In addition, more new characteristics have been showed. This paper defines the concept of juvenile delinquency as a starting point, noting that the current characteristics of juvenile delinquency, in-depth analyzed the causes of juvenile delinquency, and on this basis, proposed measures to prevent juvenile delinquency.This articles described the problem in three parts. In the first part, defined the concept of juvenile delinquency as:Criminal acts implemented by people under age of 18 years, who has harmed the society and should be punished according to criminal law(刑法)。And there after analyzed the causes of juvenile delinquency:(a) Their own reasons. Mental immaturity, lack of ability to distinguish right from wrong and ability of self-control; (b)Family reasons. Parents don't have the time or ability to educate their children, or declination in education. (c) School reasons. Blind pursuit of academic achievement, implementation of "high-pressure" policy, neglect of moral education and the lack of instilling of the rules and law; (d)Social environmental reasons. Deterioration of the social morale, pollution of bad "culture". The second part of the article mainly analyzes the characteristics of juvenile delinquency. The salient characteristics of current juvenile crime are shown in:the majority of property violations and male gender crimes, the concentrated distribution of age. Grouped crimes have accounted a certain percentage and minor downward trend in the number of crimes:On this basis, this section further explores the formation of personality of juvenile crime, further studied formation process of personality of juvenile crime. Transition, volatility and plasticity are the mainly characteristics.The third part of the article proposed the juvenile delinquency prevention measures. Mainly include:(a) Improve self-cultivation of the minors, (b) improvement of social morale and increase market management efforts. (c) improvement of education system.(d)Strengthen the basic governmental managements to the minors. Implementation of right psychological guidance. (e) enhancing the quality of the parents to improve family education. (f) strengthen the legislation. Strict accordance with the law, full protection of the legitimate rights and interests of minors, Strengthen legal advocacy and social responsibility; strengthen reciprocal assistance and education; and practical extension services. build the criminal stain elimination system, and actively explore the establishment and improvement of the judicial system with Chinese characteristics.
