Today, cooperative learning as a new approach to learning has been quietly into the high school English classroom. Compared with the traditional teaching methods, cooperative learning in a student-centered teaching practice has already become a kind of breakthrough and additions. In this paper, the history, background, meaning and value of cooperative learning are given a high degree of general. Cooperative learning is not only a way of learning, but also a teaching strategy. Cooperative learning group need basic organizational form for study, the evaluation feedback of group results, and cooperative learning is through interaction in teaching the application of the dynamic factors to promote performance improvement. Cooperative learning theory is becoming very important, and the reason is that it has a stable scientific basis. At the same time, cooperative learning is a complex activity; the theoretical foundation for cooperative learning has its complex nature, including the cognitive development of learning theory, constructivist theory, learning theory, group dynamics, hierarchy of needs theory, motivation theory. Based on these theories, the different students can be mutually inspired by each other updated and in co-operation group interaction to discover new perspectives. Cooperation learning in the group, each student has an equal opportunity to participate in. Cooperative learning can promote the development of each student.This paper is divided into four parts: the theory of English cooperative learning in senior high schools, cooperative learning survey designs, cooperative learning problems and cause analysis, cooperative learning strategies. The first part introduces the concept of cooperative learning, and explains the meaning of English cooperative learning in senior high schools, including the aim, function, type, element and theoretical base of English cooperative learning in senior high schools. In the second part, the survey design mainly aimed at the specific English class of cooperative learning investigations in NO.5 High School. It starts with the purpose of the investigation, objects, methods and tools. And then the data collection and statistics provide data support for the paper. The third part is sorting through data analysis, find the problems of English cooperative learning in high school English, such as learning objectives are not explicit, packet unreasonable, unclear division of labor groups, teachers'poor performance, lack of effective evaluation, inappropriate timing, and poor effect of cooperative learning, and so on. This fourth part, according to the problems in cooperative learning, respectively, the text presents the strategies from the teacher's dimension, student's dimension, teaching content dimension, teaching methods dimension, teaching situation dimension.
