the basic thinking modes of human being contain Concepts, judgments and reasoning. the level of individuals'inferring ability reflects the level of their logical thinking. in addition to congenital and other factors, such ability can indeed be acquired through education and training received. it is very necessary for high school geographic education to foster related reasoning ability of their students. First of all, the knowledge of high school geography is rational and relevant points'logical relationship is close, geography teachers required to got a macro view to a variety of logical relationships within the discipline. so that it is capable for teachers to improve teaching efficiency. secondly, students required to grasp relevant geographic reasoning ability is not only conducive to learning, but also of great help for their future study and personal life. especially in the new round of curriculum reform, advocating to change the learning methods .the above considerations result in the idea of cultivating their geographical reasoning ability,the paper first make a brief introduction to defines and relationships of three basic forms which contain inductive reasoning, deductive reasoning and analogical reasoning. then make a detailed description to relevant geographical content which can be taught in a inferable way in high school, For the deductive reasoning. we use syllogistic reasoning to study the principles and laws of geography and geographical concepts with reasoning teaching mode. for the inductive reasoning, we briefly present the basic methods of summarizing geographical laws in fully inductive reasoning and non-fully inductive reasoning. then again highlights "Muller five Law", which used to search for geographical causal relationships. for the analogical reasoning. then discusses its application in principles and laws of geography, geographic concepts, geographic region and geographical experiments and models. then make an explanation note to issues related which teachers should pay attention to when adopting reasoning in teaching. Finally, we introduce the standard of reasoning ability the students should get.
