| Reading is an important means to obtain information and knowledge, which plays an irreplaceable role in English learning. The entire society, school and even every student have already paid a lot of attention on nurturing English reading ability. At the same time, information technology provided a much better platform for English reading instruction. However, the outcome is frustrating. Students'reading ability is not improved obviously. The reasons of this instruction failure can be summarized as followed: Most of teachers are lack of the ability of conducting lectures with related software and incapable of choosing the optimal teaching method. In addition, students didn't acquire the effective reading method and learning strategy. As a result, they can not grasp the knowledge by themselves.Aim at resolving these problems,the thesis firstly reviewed the theory and related studies at home and abroad, and then tried to summarize learning models by classifying reading passages genres. After that, the author classified integration points of each learning model and provides relative solutions. The author divided English reading into three learning models: Narrative inquiry learning model, argumentative inquiry learning model and functional inquiry learning model. Furthermore, the author classified seven integration points: triggering thinking, provoking interests, effective learning, systematic building, direction leading, cooperation and individual study. The author conducted three case studies for the learning model.Under these foundations, the author designed an effective inquiry platform specifically for senior middle school English reading. The platform classified English reading passages by their genres. The platform can provided the optimal learning model and proper learning strategy the learner according to his own characteristics.
