Research on cognitive strategy is one of the main fields and effective methods in the researchers of cognitive development. It is also a new direction of current innovation of teaching. Cultivating cognitive strategy can improve student's comprehension and problem solving abilities. It has been the main topic of education theory on how to cultivate cognitive strategy in subject teaching. And widespread researchers are carried out in mathematics languages and other fields. Calculation and applied problems are important primary mathematics curriculum content. They are basis on grasp the knowledge for students. However, the two respects of students in the learning process have lot of troubles. Grasp the simple method and can't form current mental representation in solving problem are the main aspects in current problems. This study used cognitive strategy teaching to improve teaching. The cognitive strategy teaching includes six procedures: develop and active background knowledge; discussion strategy; strategy modeling; memory strategy; support strategy; independent operation. It bring up students'effective and independent cognitive strategy in know and solve problem. This study used the cognitive strategy as the method, the third and the fifth units as the background, grade four primary students are tested. The teaching lasts three months. Meanwhile a control class was chosen for comparison. Get the following conclusions;1. the cognitive strategy teaching lead to significant influence on students ability of calculating Among them, three-digit multiplied by two-digit and 0 multiplied by the middle of the three digit double digit have the best effect. They have significant difference compared with control class.2. the cognitive strategy teaching lead to significant influence on students ability of solving problemsThe experimental class has significant difference compared with control class. But it is have no apparent difference in quantity problems.3. the cognitive strategy teaching lead to significant influence on students ability of open questionsIn the open questions, the experimental class students can used different strategies. And the quantity of strategies are more than control class students.4. the cognitive strategy teaching developed students emotion in mathematicsThe experimental class are better than control class in anxiety,fan and bore after cognitive strategy teaching.5. the cognitive strategy teaching lead to significant influence on changed students'cognitive strategythe cognitive strategy teaching can developed students'deep thinking. It was better than control class in analyze the question,generalize and memory.
