Trust And Dual Relationships: The Professional Boundaries In The Indigenization Of Social Work Ethics In China

Based on the theory of ethical relativism and through the study on the influence to interpersonal trust by the social structure and culture of contemporary China, this paper tentatively proposes to cross the professional boundaries in a proactive manner, where the topic of professional relationships in the indigenization of social work ethics is focused. It is emphasized that social workers may perform their jobs and promote the welfare of the clients by building up and maintaining dual relationships at controllable risks. Furthermore the paper discusses how to conduct risk management under those circumstances.
