Social workers provide services according to ethics,which is important.With social working practice developing,ethical problems arise.Studying all ethical issues in a research is impossible.However,dual relationships are familiar in native Chinese societies.As a result,the research will emphasize dual relationships.In addition,the researcher pays close attention to social work for youth and practice in adolescent institution,the study is shrunken to dual relationships in adolescent field.This research uses qualitative and quantitative methods.First,the researcher interviews social workers in an institution of Fuzhou to draw the outline of dual relationships.By analyzing contents,dual relationships are classified.By snowball sampling,the researcher distributed questionnaires to social workers and trainees in five youth social work institutions.On the basis of results,the researcher divides dual relationships into boundary violations and boundary crossing.In the end,the author puts forward how to manage dual relationships in terms of ‘person-in-situation'.In the part of suggestion and reflection,the author thinks that institutional improvement,ethical education,the localization of ethics and the professionalization of social work are the key factors to minimize the possibility of ethics complaints and manage dual relationships.The conclusion need to be inspected and corrected by studying more social workers.The future research of dual relationships can also be extended in other fields,such as gerontological social work.
