| The Chinese attitude toward people is different from the logical and rational attitude of Westerners, and whether individual behavior meets the standard of "human feelings" is a local characteristic of China and a reflection of the mainstream values in traditional society. However, such an emotion-oriented approach to people can hinder front-line social workers from providing professional services in local contexts and create "dual relationships" and ethical anxiety when establishing professional relationships with clients. This paper learns from fieldwork that the elastic tension between human relations and professional relations differs due to the inherent contradiction of our local social work theory, and that the acquaintance-driven help-seeking model makes social workers lack professional identity, which leads to "dual relationships".In this regard, this paper uses theoretical sampling to conduct in-depth interviews with 15 frontline licensed community social workers, analyzes the data using the case oriented thematic coding in rooted theory, and selects the method of cross-validation to ensure the reliability and validity of the research findings.Based on the above coding data, this paper attempts to use the concept of schema in relationship theory to help frontline social workers reconceptualize the interaction script in community work service scenarios, aiming to construct a community relationship schema of "knowing and doing".The results of the study showed that the key variable "local human vocabulary" in the relational schema could help adjust the part of social work helping behaviors that involved human relationships, and enable social workers to view dual relationships in a nonproblematic perspective;while "procedural knowledge" could also facilitate The balance between professional ethics and interactive behavior can be achieved.Second,by internalizing professional values, social workers also reap the benefits of their emotional labor practices, helping to establish interaction scripts that are dominated by instrumental emotional expressions and avoiding insecurities in professional relationships. In this process, the identity of social workers is clarified, and the interpersonal expectations of both parties are at a safe distance from each other, which can also alleviate the negative effects of the phenomenon of "dual relationship" to a certain extent. In conclusion, this paper hopes that by exploring the influence of human relations in Chinese local culture on social work practice, frontline social workers will engage in reflective thinking, promote the integration and development of social work professional practice with local culture, and provide actionable suggestions for promoting the localized middle-level theory of social work. |
