Teachers' teaching competence for differentiating instruction is the teaching competence which is necessary for teachers of learning in regular class (LIRC). Teacher's teaching ability is the key factor to affect the quality of instruction. Currently it is short of the research of teachers' teaching competence in our country. The study of LIRC teachers' teaching competence for differentiating instruction can not only provide theoretical basis for the relevant departments but also provide reference for the teachers.The study adopted classroom observing and interviewing. First, LIRC teachers' teaching strategies and effects of teaching can be found out through classroom observing. Second, to survey and analyze the status of LIRC teachers' competence for differentiating instruction. The results as following:First, some teachers know little about the children with mild mental retardation, they feel difficult to rationalize the collective in the class teaching and the individual counseling in the teaching process.Second, "lack of appropriate method of teaching" and "strain" is the main obstacles for the respondents.Third, "asked questions" and "guidelines" reflect LIRC teachers' teaching strategies.Fourth, overall, children with mild retardation can be taken into consideration in the teaching progress, the more teachers concern, conducts between students and teachers corresponding, better the effect of differentiating instruction in class.Based on above results, the researcher proposed the suggestions as follows, strengthening the special knowledge and skill in pre-service education, insisting the principle "popularity and raise", providing stable and professional support system, establishing a scientific system of evaluation education, insisting the principle of "equality" education, leading teachers to distribute and use teaching time reasonably and so on.This research has reference value for both relevant departments and LIRC teachers.
