The Study On The Influence Of Mass Media For College Students About Their Social Core Values Representation

Nowadays, mass media has become an important part in modern life.It can publish information,entertain,distribute ethics,do aesthetic education, regulate public opinions, propagate political views,also,it can promote people's accomplishment, stimulate people's ability.So,mass media plays an important role in improving knowledge structure, behavior function, values, personality accomplishment, aesthetic for college students.As a special social group, college students do well in accepting new things, new ideas and new knowledge.They always want something new.Their ideas about the world, life and values have not been established. Therefore, the study about the influence of mass media,could provide useful information for college students'education.In this paper, we used quantitative research methods,and selected nearly 600 college students as the research objects. Through the survey data,we analysed the status about the the core values of college students, the actual situation of media contaction and effects by different kinds of media on college students. The results show that generally, the the core values of college students are at a high level,both in cognition and in behavior. They pay more concerns of the State,also,they have more civic consciousness,and are more inclined to help others.As for the media contaction, college students treat television as the major tool to get news and entertainments. The values in television programs could do some impact on college students. Compared with the other kinds of media, students did not trust in the information and public opinion in network. Because of the negative impact of electronic media, college students now use less newspapers and magazines than before.Then, newspapers and magazines have less effect on shaping the core values of society for college students.On this basis,the paper put forward some measures about school education, self-management of media and government regulations, in order to provide reasonable means of shaping the the core values of society for college students.
