Vocational personnel play an important role to support a modernized nation as well as to push its development ahead. The primary objective of our higher vocational education is to bring up more qualified vocational personnel. Our vocational education doesn't have a long history as it in western countries, so it's based on a very shaky foundation. Thus, we still have a long way to run in order to meet the need of the increasing requirement of vocational training in our modernized society. The suggested meaning: It will be of a great practical significance to research the American educational pattern of vocational training and the advanced source of reference will be of great help for us to explore the way to reform, develop and improve our own educational system of vocational training. Then the increasing demand of vocational personnel will be met for the modernization development of our society.This essay consists of 6 sections. Chapter 1: Introduction The background condition under which the topic was selected is briefly introduced in this part, as well as the theories researched and its practical purpose. Also included are the current research of the task, domestic and overseas, the research approaches and the sketch of its content. Chapter 2: The Theoretical Basis The basic concepts and related theories of the American vocational training are briefly introduced. The basic ideas are clearly specified that how the American vocational education has been standardized and supported. Chapter 3: Briefly introduced is the educational history of the development, reform and characteristics of American vocational training. Not only the definite historical necessity that American vocational education appeared earlier is revealed, but also the successful experiences of its smooth development as well. Chapter 4 & 5: The two main sections. A more detailed introduction and analysis are given to the main ideas, classifications, features and enlightenment of the current situation of American vocational education, in an attempt to achieve a complete description, further analysis and a general acknowledgement of the American vocational education.
