Consumption patterns is the product of culture and social construction,which in some way in some way reveal people's life style. Therefore, to analyze the culture and social background behind those patterns with a sociologic view will give us a thorough understanding on consumption. With further socio-economic development and civilization, we see a great improvement in social, economic and political status for secondary school teachers. Therefore, To analyze their consumption patterns is of great importance.Since opening up,with home appliancence being univesal,great change has taken place on secondary school teachers'consumption idea.they are more interested in the products that is more suitable for their social status and cultural taste. Thus, The study of their consumer behavior, consumption patterns, consumer attitudes and consumer culture is not only concerns about the development for themselves,but also an issue of social development. As there is a large difference of payment between primary school teachers and secondary school teachers, we will narrow down our study on the consumption patterns of secondary school teachers.Based on Baudrillard "Symbolic Consumption" Theory and Pierre Bourdieu"taste segmentation", the daily consumption patterns is analyzed by ways of questionnaires, participant observation and interviews and other research methods. The reason and motivation and the unique culture it reforms behind those consumption patterns is then revealed.By studying the culture and social background,we give our perspective on secondary school teachers'social status and its future development. The paper is divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction, mainly describes study background, concerned theories home and abroad, it also elaborate the purpose, significance methods,and the creation for doing the research. The second part is an overview of consumption patterns of middle school teachers.The core concepts is outlined in this paper to define and consumption patterns in secondary schools and the theoretical basis used in this paper.The third part is the survey of consumption patterns. The questionnaires and is used to investigate eight types of work in, county, township in Linyi City, Shandong Province. The rough comparison and description of food, clothing, shelter, and other more specific factors is being made between the current secondary school teachers and other professional groups in consumer behavior. The difference and similarity is then analyzed, and economic and cultural perspective is illustrated to analyze the factors that affect teachers'consumption patterns.In the fourth part, By analyzing the economic factors, social and cultural factors, we try to provide some suggestions concerning the aspects of state, schools and teacher themselves. Future consumption prospects is also discussed in the end of the paper.
