East and West cultural exchange, collision and gathering, the extensive use of new media represented by the Internet, China's market economy system's maturity, the economy's rapid growth since reform and opening up, the environmental pollution, ecological damage along with economic extensive growth which forms an increasingly serious problem, the relatively poor spiritual life along with a rich material life, and so on, all these constitute the new features in China's social transition and have a profound impact on the contemporary Chinese people's way of life and their pursuit of life. This influence has spread to the youth groups. 80 latter generations and 90 latter generations have formed some fixed characteristics.As an integral part of life style, consumption way can generally be considered that it includes concept of consumption and consumptive behavior. The concept of a person's consumption is restricted by his economic conditions and guided by his outlook on life and values, therefore, it reflects his lifestyle, outlook on life and values in a certain sense.The dissemination and spread of western consumerism in China has already aroused the interest and vigilance of man of insight, and its impact on young people has also been a subject of some scholars to study. My paper is inseparable from the background. In addition to some introductory narrative of the criticism of consumerism which western scholars made, the paper is trying to learn survival wisdom from the traditional consumption thought and strengthen itself by the theory"ethical consumption"in order of the deconstruction of consumerism.What characteristics the concept of consumption of contemporary students emerges, what kind of mental outlook it reflects, whether there is something unreasonable even to be vigilant or not, these are the original intention of this study. From the perspective of sociology of education, this paper attempts to find out the password of contemporary social life, as well as what kind of projection on young people contemporary consumer culture produced.The document a number of opinions on strengthening and improving the ideological and moral construction of the minor by the Central Committee of the CCP and the State Council was already issued in 2004, but the implementation of this project needs the whole community to make long-term efforts. Abnormal, pathological consumer attitudes will lead to abnormal, pathological behavior, undermining seedling of the young people's moral foundation. For students who are still minors, it is both right and duty to accept and adopt a correct, scientific, and reasonable consumption concept, which is helpful to them to step solid pace on the life road. According to the results of the survey, the analysis of the problems reflected, the paper proposes to set up flexible forms of curriculum on consumer education and implement consumer education effectively, with the hope of attracting the attention of education experts, educators and parents.Begins from a series of empirical investigation, this article analyzes new characteristic, new trend of contemporary middle-school student's concept about consumption on the basis of statistical analysis, then theoretically combs each kind of concept about consumption in Chinese and foreign history of consumption thinking, integrates the critique on consumerism made by the Frankfurt school as representative, and elaborates the background and basis of this concept consumption ethic proposed. Then taking these theories as the reference, it points out new question accompanying with the above new characteristic and analyzes its cause, finally proposes some concrete measures and suggestions.
