The problem of poor students in universities has been an issue that the government, society and universities are all concerned about in the recent years. In the meanwhile, the educators are also focusing their attention on those students. Self-confidence is a relatively stable personality traits, which is the individual's trust on their own knowledge, abilities, behaviors, judgments. Confidence plays a driving role in the structure of individual and their mental activity and development. University is an important period of the formation of the students'values and a healthy self-development. In this stage, self-confidence direct impacts on the employment of college students, attitude to life and throughout life. Particularly in the emphasis on innovative education, promoting quality education today, has more important theoretical significance of the research on college students self-confidence. Currently, a number of poor students increase. They face economic hardship, but also under a lot of psychological pressure. If they can not get timely help ,this will not only affect their physical development and health, but also may even have a negative impact on their mental attitude to life. Therefore, good education on poor students makes significant sense for building socialist harmonious society, furthering advanced educational reform and students'comprehensive development.This review based on the research of others, make a more in-depth analysis of this subject. It divided into three parts. This paper states the significance of self-education for poor students in colleges and universities. Based on the significance, this paper analyzes the causes for the self-confident education. Considering the new situation and characteristics that the works are faced with when they educate poor university students nowadays, the author of this paper analyzes the problems that exist in poor students'self-confident education: reinforcing the economic aid but ignoring the ideological and moral education; the absence of the role of the school counseling system and the low efficiency of the psychological counseling activities; the ignorance of the practical ability of poor students and the lack of a stable guarantee system; the influence of the traditional thinking on the ideological and political educators in schools and their lack of humanistic care for poor students.Combined with the investigation as well as the basis of poor student's education which should adhere to the principle of non-discrimination, privacy principles, principle of comprehensiveness, this paper proposes the new concept strengthening the Poor College Students self-education: to make good use of the national or work-study scholarship to resolve the practical difficulties of poor students; to carry out a variety of campus cultural activities to create a good cultural atmosphere; to stimulate the self-improvement and reinforce the mental health education to build a good self-confidence of the poor students; to cultivate the self-awareness and the belief education to help poor students shape a sound personality. In this connection, this paper presents a number of measures of the recommendations, which is the focus of this research. Throughout the process, the Scientific Outlook on Development is an education-oriented of the self-confidence education on college students. People-oriented is the core concept of the Scientific Outlook on Development. The fundamental task of universities is to train people, no doubt, they should take people-oriented as its educational philosophy. People are the center of education and the aim of education, who also are the starting point and the ultimate goal of education. Therefore, colleges should take poor student as oriented and enable them to experience the good life, and the joy of success. University should foster their positive attitude towards life, so that they form a healthy personality, fully confident about their own and their future, and do their best to achieve their goals.
