Someone said that "the 21st century is the environmental century."There is no doubt that global ecological deterioration has been threatening human survival and development. All countries in the world have been paying great attention to the environment pollution. A series of problems have been caused because human paid little attention to pollutin, such as global warming, disease hooliganism, forest declined, water pollution, extinction, energy exhaustion, land desertification, air pollution, etc. The nature has been giving an alarm to human again and again.Sinc open to the outside world, our national economy has achieved a quick development and people's living standard has getten a great improvement. As the same time, ecological environment in China has been polluted in different degree. Because of bad social environment and the loss of school moral education, environmental protection consciousness of people is relatively weak. Primary and middle school students are in adolescence and they are the future of the our country. Adolescence is the key period for forming the world outlook and the outlook on life and values. Because we pay little attention to the students' moral education of our school and the lack of course resources and teachers, our ecological ethics education hasn't developed very well. It is bad for the protection of the ecological environment in our country. What's more, is also bad for the economic development and the improvement of people's living standard in the future. So its quite nessary for us to pay more attention to the ecological moral education in primary and middle schools. It is a useful job that work now and bnifit in future.In the base on the analyzing the ecological thought of Buddhism, this paper take Saddharmapundarika—sutra as example to analyze it's enlightenment on the contemporary ecological moral education. And then providing theoretical basis for the constructing of ecological moral education system. And provide new ideas and ways for our ecological moral education in primary and middle school.This research can be divided into four parts.The first part, there are three parts in the literature review:the previous studies of ecological ideas of on Buddhist and the research on the avatamsaka sutra, and the research of ecological moral education in the school. Besides, we point out some limitations of the study.The second part, the paper makes a key analysis on the ecological moral of avatamsaka sutra. Such as the idea of ecological view of the whole that from Dharmadhatu Dependent Origination and the idea of ecological harmonious from communication, the idea of ecological responsibility from according to the positive, and the idea of equality from everyone is Buddha. The ecological thoughts of avatamsaka sutra are reasonable and scientific. Because it understand that everything in the world is connect with each other. It understands the relation between the internal and external factors and it conforms to the 21st century ecological and environmental protection concept. However, it also has some defects. For example the thought is a idealism and easy to fall into the thought of "biological center".The third part, analyzed the current situation of China's ecological moral education in the school, and then analyzes the reason of the lag of ecological moral education in school.The fourth part is the conclusion. According to the research and analysis in front, summarizes the value of the ecological thought from avatamsaka sutra to our current school moral education both in theory and behavior.
