The area of Tibet Autonomous Region is more than 120 million square kilometers and its average elevation is more than 4,000 meters. There is unique natural ecology and geographical environment. It is the "rivers resource" and "ecological resource" of South Asia and Southeast Asia, it also plays the role of "sensors" and "sensitive areas" in Asia and the Northern Hemisphere climate change. Still it is the "starter" and "regulating area" in China and Eastern Hemisphere climate adjusts.In my study, based on 1:250000 Tibet Autonomous land use and the population, the Tibet Autonomous Region's model between population density and the land use was established. Based on the model the spatial distribution of population in Tibet Autonomous Region was achieved. According to the data was provided by https://wist. echo. nasa. gov. which the spatial resolution is 500m, temporal resolution is one year, research ecological carrying capacity, the ecological footprint and ecological surplus. And then the sustainable development status in Tibet autonomous region was further evaluated. Additionally analysis of the correlation between population and ecological carrying capacity and ecological footprint is analyzed,the influence of population distribution to sustainable development is studied. Some reasonable suggestions are given.This study is divided into three parts:The first part, based on based on 1:250000 Tibet Autonomous land use data, extracted by GIS technique, combined with SPSS statistical software, according to the Tibet Autonomous Region's six districts and one city, the area of necessary type was calculated. Then the independent quadratic function model between population density and each types of land-use area in each district was figured out. Simultaneously using the established model and combined with GIS spatial analysis technology specialization of population density in Tibet Autonomous Region was realized. This content combined with the ecological environment, ecological footprint, analysis the influence of population to sustainable development. The second part, based on the data was provided by https://wist. echo. nasa. gov, combining with the ecological carrying capacity and ecological footprint model, according to areas of six districts and one city of Tibet Autonomous Region, ecological carrying capacity, ecological footprint and ecological surplus from 2001 to the 2007 were calculated. And the ecological carrying capacity, ecological footprint and ecological surplus of Tibet Autonomous Region from 2001 to 2007 were also calculated. And it is the evaluation of the sustainable development in Tibet Autonomous Region.The third part, based on the statistical data from 2001 to 2007, the correlation between population and ecological carrying capacity and ecological footprint were analyzed. Combined with the specialized population density the influence of human activities to the sustainable development is analyzed. Some reasonable suggestions are given.
