Purpose: Man's physical organism and fitness decreases as one gets old, which will result in multiple chronic diseases. However, health-related physical fitness of the middle and old aged can be improved through exercise. Aerobic exercise is an effective way to improve fitness. By taking it, both health-related physical fitness and function will be greatly improved and hence it will leave a great influence on man's different body systems and organs. However, there are quite few studies done on aerobic exercise's effect on middle and old aged women's health-related physical fitness and balance. This paper aims to test the heart and lung endurance, strength and strength endurance, flexibility, BMI and balance of the middle and old aged women, who take such aerobic exercise as yoga, Latin dance and body-fitting exercise more than 1 year. On the basis of comparison and evaluation of the effect of these three types of aerobic exercise on their fitness, this thesis makes a detailed exploration of their working organism on human's fitness, and hence provides references for the popularization of aerobic exercise.Methodology: The subjects are 41 women (aged 52.49±6.15) in their first or second year of membership of a body-fitting club, optionally chosen from Fitness and other body-fitting clubs. Among them, 14 take stretching class, 13 dancing class, and 14 body-fitting exercise. For comparison, 13 women (aged 53.70±6.65) subjects, who don't take regular exercise, are also tested in the research.Exercise time of the subjects: three times a week. Every time lasts for 60 minutes, including 10-minute warm-up shower, 40-minute aerobic exercise and 10-minute adjustment exercise.Exercise intensity: the subjects work out in the same intensity as they usually do in the club. Karvonen's equation is used to calculate their heart beat. For yoga class gymnastics group (Group S), the average heart beat is controlled in the range of 100-120 times per minute; for Latin dance class gymnastics group (Group W), the average heart beat is controlled in the range of 110-130 times per minute; and for aerobics class gymnastics group, average heart beat is controlled in the range of 120-140 times per minute. In the test, the indexes such as subjects'height, weight, step index, grip strength, supine leg raise, fu-lying dorsal tilt, sit-and-reach, hands back hook and static balance are examined respectively and recorded down. Those data are then carefully analyzed by means of SPSS 13.0.Results:1. Group S's step index is obviously higher than that of Group D (P<0.01). The step index of Group W is also higher than that of Group D.2. The grip strength among these four groups shows no obvious difference. The Fu-lying dorsal tilts Group W do per minute are many more than Group D (P<0.01) and Group S (P<0.05) do. The Supine leg raises Group W do per minute are also many more than Group D (P<0.01) and Group S (P<0.05).3. Group W can perform more Sit-and-reach than Group D (P<0.01). Group S and W can hook their hands back much better than Group D (P<0.01). Besides, among the three aerobatic exercise groups, Group J show the least ability of hands back hook, much less than Group W (P<0.01) and Group S (P<0.05).4. The BMI among these four groups shows no obvious difference.5. According to the test, Group S's balance is much better than Group D (P<0.01).and Group W's static balance is also much better than that of Group D (P<0.01). in addition, Group J's static balance is much worse than that of Group S (P<0.01) and Group W (P<0.05). However, it shows no obvious difference with that of Group D.Conclusions:1. The heart and lung endurance, static balance of yoga is the best of the four Sample groups, strength and flexibility are also better than other two groups.2. The strength, flexibility, BMI in Latin dance group is the best of the four groups, heart and lung endurance, static balance are also better than other two groups.3. Aerobics group's BMI and waist muscles strength are better; the performance of flexibility, static balance, heart and lung endurance is relatively weak, but all the figures are better than group D.
