On August 26, 1980, the NPC standing committee approved Shenzhen to become the first special economic zone of China. Soon after this reform and opening, there was a large influx of immigrants from all over China to Shenzhen. Shenzhen is the second city which is collecting 56 ethnic groups, the first one is Beijing. The people from the northeast of China are a new wave of immigrants which came to Shenzhen for work. Even as they live their lives in Shenzhen, they don't t consider themselves to belong to the Shenzhen culture. The reason for this is that northeast indigenous culture was rooted in their mind which conflicts the Shenzhen cultural. The Northern people feel this makes them not be able to relate to Shenzhen people socially. The interviewing of 20-30 northeast white-collar workers who have been living in Shenzhen around 10 to 15 years showed results about the identity of the northeast people's mind about Shenzhen's cultural. In 1986 Tajfel brought forth the theory of social identity, consummated by Turner. Hall said: "as a cultural identity gradually forming process, is also a kind of" existence ".MaErDan,the French scholars, put forward "narrative" theory, emphasized identity recognition is a kind of special narrative form, its plot can be restructuring, making a new interpretation. For groups, culture is a kind of meaning and intelligence system, is the logical basis of the unified group. Select pre-existing narrative identity and group closely related to the cultural characteristics of growing refactoring, emphasize the significant in culture system, and then construct a symbol of the identity.Cultural identity refers to specific individuals or groups that share similar or common history, cultural origin, cultural features, and common values. Though groups may not be one hundred percent the same they do have many overlaps making them feel they are closer to each other. The more similarities a group has the more they will feel connected.Cultural identity is effected by : geographic location, gender, race, national origin, and orientation of the division, etc.Using the theory of cultural identity by combining concrete literature research and interviewing for people for Shenzhen's cultural identification problem we obtained the following results by interviewing 20 northeast people in Shenzhen who worked at state-owned enterprises, institutions, as teachers and civil servants. People living in Shenzhen 10-15 years are white-collar workers in the age group of 40-59.The people from the northeast of China do not agree that they are Shenzhen people, even though they have Shenzhen residence, "Dongbei" are two words that have stuck in mind and lives. Shenzhen is just a temporary residence for living, even after buying a house and retiring, they still want to be back in northeast which is their"home".The northeast people in Shenzhen feel that locals are not so friendly towards them. Shenzhen local people are very insipid, always like the packet layer membrane, unlike the northeast person which are gracious and easy to get along with. The northeast person always love to make friends, they feel lonely because Shenzhen people are not friendly towards them.Shenzhen northeast person think Shenzhen has no unique city culture. Northeast culture is much deeper, which always has actively stimulating atmosphere of progress. Most northeast people in Shenzhen think they are northeast people. In daily communication, the blood relationship and area connecting would be the first choice for them to judge people if they are in the same style, general choosing the homogeneous northeast. With the locals, they have no further emotions. Shenzhen as an immigration city which brought by the multicultural intersection makes Shenzhen lose their own unique cultural characteristics. The northeast people are not accustomed to the locals festivals and do not agree the locals customs. DongBeiCai which has the flavour is still the northeast person's favorite. Most people come to Shenzhen just for career development, but later they will go back to their own city. The northeast person always thinks of their hometown, has no sense of belonging in Shenzhen and lacking in social identity. The reason is due to the northeast person is much different from Shenzhen locals in their behavior patterns, lifestyle, etc, and the northeast person doesn't agree with the culture of Shenzhen. The way to strengthen the feeling of the identity in northeast should be more a more profound understanding of local lifestyle, the local people's mode of thinking and be better at adapting to the life of the local. For the northeast, cultural reconstruction, seeking common ground is important.Identity is a complex social process. Cultural identity is not a clear social cognitive process. Culture of social integration, namely, Cultural requires much integration. Social cultural institutions are from different aspect maintained social unity. Due to that culture has formed an integral system, each part of the culture relies on each other, if any part of the culture appear to decompose it will threaten the entire culture system, leading to social integration. "Cultural identity for most people is the most meaningful thing," culture through the custom, social ethics to become a unified whole.
